Over the past year, the odd visitor to my site and indeed the odd friend or two have advised that I should turn my site into a company which surprised me as I started it just as a hobby really.

However, I do sell the odd item here and there and have the odd affiliate link on the site so I guess I do get a few pounds here and there. I also have to pay out a good few hundred a year in hosting costs etc so all in all I have incoming and outgoings.

My question is, should turning the site into a company be something I should look into, and if so how do I go about it ? What would be the advantages and disadvantages?

Or, is this OTT for a site like mine ?

Why not just register as a sole trader to put any income on a more legal footing?

Ditto. There's a lot of hassle with a full blown company and my web earnings are just done on a simple basis.
