Bad Day: Just found out that my company want to instigate a new working process that would require someone sat a computer to press a button at precisely the right time approximately every 5-10 seconds which would mean that on an average day they would press the button 57,600 times. It also means that they would not be able to take their eyes off the screen for anything more than a couple of seconds as otherwise they'd miss the point that they would have to press the button.

Good Day: I am bathing in the joy of telling the company that such processes would break just about every H&S law in the country and they'd been swamped by law suits for everyone suing them for RSI, eyestrain and stress.

Well I certainly do feel like I've been stuck on an island for years without hope of rescue and our managers do worryingly resemble The Others so maybe I do and I just don't know it.

It does seem that these managers appear to be missing the point of using computers in a rather staggering way.  You know, the old stuff about computers doing automated tasks, and all that... crybaby

Sounds similar to the nightmare I had with O2 when I wanted to buy a new phone. Apparently it's 'company policy' to not sell a phone, even to an existing customer, from one of their stores without forcing you to buy at least £10 call time that can only be added to a new SIM and therefore a new telephone number unless you buy that phone from the companies website or visit enough stores until someone realises that it's not actually company policy whatsoever and that they'd actually receive the commission on the sale of the phone rather than loose it for the sake of the extra commission from a lousy £10 call time. O2 are total brain dead morons!

Bad Day: Woke to find no electricity early this morning, worked with my sparky for 5 hours finding the fault. Damaged cable under the floor (Not from anything I've done)

Good Day: Not really a good day but I did find the fault before ripping up floorboards and removing the bath (fault was under the bath).

Yea, I managed to get the sockets up and running within a few hours so no major issues with the fish or the freezer etc.

Below is the cause of the fault. A cable clip was battered on to some twin and earth, the earth wire to broke the insulation on the neutral causing a short. It's been like it since the house was built and was fine (Well not fine but wasn't enough to take the RCD out) until I disturbed it while doing some work on the house.
