There's no doubt I'm a major pedant - doesn't stop me accusing others of also being so.....

Or, get jiggy with the are.

Clearly MADNESS!

YOU should be given 60GBP per week for providing a father figure for that child!

Vote for Cameron, he'll sort that nation out.

Matt, if between the two of you, you earn less than £16k (ish) then you may get working tax credit. Or is this what she is losing? There's also child tax credit, not sure how you get that as I've never applied wink

It's all on the tax credits of the Inland Rev web site.

I do and we are looking into it.

She gets child tax credits I think.

Just trying to decide what to do car wise, Seat have offered me a good personal hire purchase deal on a new seat leon 1.6 sport job, dunno whether to get something decent (and pay less insurance etc then what I am now and have a 3 yr warranty) or buy a cheap car.

Either way I have a mum to pay off, could do it even if I go on PHP - because its a low deposit offer type thing.

Why not go pch - personal contract hire?

* You will suffer NO depreciation losses - said to be £1000 on most cars when you leave the dealership!
* You can get a replacement vehicle at term end OR just walk away, so a new car - every couple of years, typically
* You have EXACT fixed costs for the whole Lease Term - be it 6, 12, 18, 24 or 36 months
* NEVER pay Road Tax Fund or MOT - this is always included
* You could also take out a maintenance agreeement for a fairly low amount - so NO repair costs
* Your Vehicle is ALWAYS under Manufacturers Warranty.

As famous philanthropist, Paul John Getty said 'Buy what appeciates - Lease what depreciates'

*** All the above copied from another forum.

If I could have afforded the pch for the spec of motor I wanted I would have done that.

well said from the clear vantage point of the PRC

She certainly shouldn`t have to lose it *all* - is that fair?

Mr. Yawner, she should lose it all, and an arm for having a child out of wedlock, the shame of it!

They are a young family just starting out and clearly need the extra cash, there should be a 3-6 month time limit to allow women who meet new partners (and cohabit) find additional income streams, or offer the couple a greater monetary sum for staying together and creating a household where the child(ren) feel safe and will prosper in the education system without turning to a life of crime.

I'm prefering shitty old vehicles to new ones latley. I'm choosing my older cars over the new one most journeys.

I've never known car insurance to reduce when you move. I reckon they just make an admin figure up in their head.

mine did.
North London to Herts, I'm not surprised. smile

Got to do mine next, moving ever so slightly north.. fingers crossed!

I'm due a refund of.. £12.57  Better than a kick in the teeth. smile  Next step.. business use.
