How much downloading do you honestly do now? You're moving in with the missus so I'm guessing even less than now! wink I wouldn't choose by no download limit as you could restrict yourself from a good service. We have a 15GB monthly limit and considering we work on the web all day plus personal surfing at night/weekends, we've not hit the limit yet.

Anyhow. We're on fast.co.uk after out 6 week nightmare with UK Online. Fast are second to none. It's great when you phone support (which we never do now, but obviously did at first to get started) and it's answered within 2 rings, compared to UK O which I once sat on the phone waiting for over an hour.

For routers, I'm a fan of linksys, however we have a belkin one here (with linksys modem) and admittedly not had the problems I usually associate with them. My hint would be, work out which one you want and check on Amazon as they can be much cheaper there if you catch the right moment.

I did a lot of research on this recently as i just moved form an NTL area to an ADSL one.

fast.co.uk are generally regarded as the top dog, but you have to pay for that quality and to be able to download a lot of stuff. I went for ADSL24 who came second in a couple of polls i found, they have decent b/w limits, have good pricing and allow you are on a monthly contract you can cancel at any time. Been using them for coming up to too months and not had a single problem so far smile

Also ADSL24 here - just switched to them from Pipex (due to Pending Tiscali nightmare) and all good so far. They are an Enta reseller so good network and support. Nice user control panel too - you can see what bandwidth you are using on a daily basis.
UKFSN also supposed to be good.

Thanks all. Its not as cheap as I was hoping, especially having to pay line rental on a phoneline we dont really want - but need to get ADSL.

As its rented and we could be there for just 6 months its not worth the hassle, if it becomes a long term solution Ill give it a go.

This house is about half an hour away from Kidderminster where I live and the missus does college and her lad does nursery - so its not ideal but is cheap and available unlike any other rented property here
