includes not working in UTF-8 / Chinese

ok ... been working on a new site http://home2.btconnect.com/mission-links/testsite/uktest.php   ... not quite complete but getting there.

I've also got to do a chinese version and thought I'd managed it using utf-8 and saving as unicode. However, despite the only difference being a bit of text I'd changed, the chinese test version hasn't pulled in the menu include file (easymenu)  .. see http://home2.btconnect.com/mission-links/testsite/chinatesttxt.php ... I'm at a complete blank and starting to think the best method is a screen grab of the word doc and display as an image .. far from ideal but could be a solution. I did also find a page that converted chinese text to characters at http://www.pinyin.info/tools/converter/chars2uninumbers.html but that's down now too ...

You've saved it as unicode (UTF-16), not UTF-8. The former is not compatible with PHP. Save it again but as UTF-8.

Only real pain is that I tend to use htmlkit and it won't paste the characters in direct so having to edit the chinese pages in notepad ... I can live with that though.

Also just noticed there now a gap between the top pics and the menu in the Chinese only for some reason.


ta .. just need to get his translations now.
