Just about to start a site and she's sent me a few images as examples of a look she likes and they all have this kind of effect .. not sure what you'd call it really but anyone got any idea how I'd get a 'normal' flowery image to look this way or similar ?

It's marginal, but I suspect they've done this:


Step One - open image in photoshop

Step Two - copy the layer and set the blend mode to "Screen"
Step Three - Apply a gaussian blur to the copy layer
Step Four - Reduce the opacity of the copy layer to suit

The image also seems 'pixellated' in some way, maybe reduced in size and then enlarged to lose the resolution?
