Fellow DDNers...

I'm being asked more and more by clients for advice on web standards, and SEO guidelines.

As we all know, there's a lot of myth out there about these two subjects, and not wanting to give incorrect advice I was wondering if anyone has come across any reputable printed (or digital) reading resources that deal with the issues of web standards compliance and SEO.

I know that the two are not integrally linked, but I thought that I may as well mention both in one thread, rather than posting twice (!).

There are some good looking books on Amazon, but if anyone knows of a more specialist online bookstore which sells reputable stuff, then I'd much appreciate your sharing the address.

Thanks in advance - 'preciate it :-)
Have a good evening.

Alex

If you want this for clients, rather than developers, then give them a copy of PAS 78 (produced by the BSI) which will cover current expectations for compliance to the DDA. For other aspects of standards compliance, a copy of DWWS may help you out.

Web Credible publish a PDF handbook which covers 128 best practice checkpoints about SEO, Usability, Accessibility and Credibility, which for £170 is well worth the read:

http://www.webcredible.co.uk/user-friendly-resources/white-papers/handbook.shtml

As I'm a kind person, I think you might also like to know that they offered the download of the handbook for free about 18 months ago.  And although you can no longer download it from the Web Credible web site, I also thought you might like to know about this, especially for Dec 21, perhaps.

Just don't tell anyone.

So this SEO copywriter walks into a bar, grill, pub, public house, Irish bar, bartender, drinks, beer, wine, liquor...

Beware my weird, cross-dressing comment's; they are pretty standard examples of trolling.

Looks like my link automatically tries to DL the PDF.

Go to archive.org and pop this into the Wayback Machine:

http://www.webcredible.co.uk/user-friendly-resources/webcredible-handbook.pdf

Dec 21st is the link you want; download/view as you'd do any other hyperlinked PDF smile
