HI All, I have lost the links for the photographic databases which I had. I wondered whether anyone could post links to the databases which they use. Decent quality preferred, oh , and of course FREE is always welcomed.
Cheers Andy

Got the iStockPhoto, only one I could remember.... Wasn't sure where to post... web design, Arty Stuff, depends on your perspective.... And you need to buy credits on sxc these days.... what's the world coming to... I was sure it used to be free... might have been a while ago though

Really? Welcome to Stock.XCHNG, the leading FREE stock photo site! Are you sure you're looking at Stock Exchange and not Stock Expert?

Dramatic difference in quality of images available. I remember Stock Exchange used to be quite good, but did a few random searches on both, and was disappointed by Stock Exchange. Cheers Andy

I've used SXC before, but stick mostly to iStock as there's a wider range of better quality images - which is to be expected as one if free and the other not (with the Stock Expert being the higher standards version of SXC). I have looked through Stock Expert a few times and not found what I wanted, but if I had then there's no reason why I wouldn't have bought from them.

What do you want for nothing? Consider SXC to be a by hobbyists for hobbyists library and little more (although there are still a few gems in there if you look hard enough and are lucky enough for them to match your needs).

Gosh, seems as though I have got your dander up. I was just asking, I appreciate that safe does usually mean lower quality. If I find what I'm after then I have no quibbles with paying.... mmmm what was that noise... maybe a ninja banana split clambering over my roof.... or we've got mice again.... Thanks for the info.
Cheers Andy

Gosh, seems as though I have got your dander up. Not really. I just think it's a bit daft to quibble about the quality of stock photos on a site that gives them away for free.

Anyone uploaded their own photos to these databases, and making money form them? I have a few landscape and city shots, and thought I might give it a try...
