French men of all ages carry handbags to keep their keys, wallets, identity papers etc in. They look pretty ghey carrying them around the place, getting out their wallet to pay for shopping, meals etc.

I have always taken teh piss out of "men" (to their face) carrying these things.  Always that is until a couple of weeks ago, when my gf (not French btw) bought me one as a present.

I quite liek it.

I have even  muttered such phrases as "It's so practical"

Am I inflicted?

Any other betas liek to share a handbag story?

Tickler,

I carry a rucksack with my gear in it.  Chuck my wallet, PDA, PSP etc into it and go.  Useful when shopping too - no need for carrier bags.  Handbag philosophy without looking like a ponce. big grin

I used to rip the piss out of Chinese guys that carry a purse like thing under the shoulder.

Then my mother in law bought me something similar but has a shoulder strap. It looks like this: http://www.chinacartimes.com/ddn/gaybag.jpg

She bought it in October last year, but always thought it was mega gay and threw it in the back of the cupboard, much to the anger of Mrs. MCSE, who told me it was very very expensive. 'Its ghey' was my defense. I was looking for my rucksack a few months ago, but found this bag, which seemed more than capable of carrying a large wad of cash, bank documents, passports, driving license, keys etc in one go! Its so practical! I used it every day, its better than a rucksack because its smaller, and you can keep it in front of you to keep pickpockets from having a go!

It is gay, but it is practical. My American friends are jealous, my Brit friends think Im gay. The Americans call it a 'European purse' that must be code word for 'faggot'

Im proud to say I love my manbag.

I guess you use your mobile phone belt clip for picking up men in toilets.

Don't worry my cranially-damaged friend. I've given up the belt-clip ages ago.

I was bought a man-bag a few months ago, a retro Dunlop canvas satchel. Wouldn't be without it now, especially in summer when the average pocketage is reduced. The men of Bolton look on in wonder and jealousy.

I don't have a manbag. For a few things I have pockets, for lots I have a rucksack. For more than that I have a car.
