He claimed that pig parts such "ears, arseholes, and offal" could only be sold as pet food in Europe, but were "considered delicacies" in China.

"The market is potentially worth millions each year. The British Pig Executive has been in negotiations for 18 months with the Chinese to try to get certification in place to allow trade. So this is obviously a serious setback."

The commission estimates that foot and mouth will cost the meat industry £10m a week in exports.

I have a friend that sells pig feet from the USA he gets them for free, he pays for packing costs, and sells them on for $3USD per KG in China.

They used to be eaten regularly here.

I think most bits have been banned from the menu by the government.

Ive tried eating chicken feet, but there isnt much to eat. Its hard gristle that cant be bitten into.

I heard you have to suck the marrow out, but that just makes me retch.

I one went to a restaurant that specializes in the cuisine of Mrs. Notorious MCSE's hometown, most people had a big silver metal dish (the kind that dogs eat from) that was full of bones, these folks were sitting wearing disposable latex gloves, straws in their mouths sucking the marrow out of the inside of these big cow and pig bones.

It takes a lot to make Mr. Notorious MCSE sick, but that flippin threw it, Id rather have Bob Goatse do his thing 1inch from my face than see people sitting around casually sucking the marrow out of a bone like you would sip on a cocktail out of coconut shell on a Carribean beach.

I told Mrs. teh MCSE that is she ever ate anything like that in front of me, I'd knock her teeth out.

Then I took her dad out for dinner, and he ordered a dish full of BBQ'd sparrows.

Yes, Sparrows.

Nah, we used to eat it because offal and other bits were all lots of people could afford.
We don't eat it now because the gov has banned it but because we don't have to. We can all generally afford to eat the nice bits now.
