The Merlin pass is 50% off in January.  I'm planning to pick passes up for the fam. We'll only need to do 2 days out in 12 months to make it worth the money. http://www.merlinannualpass.co.uk/prices_offers/new_passes.asp

That's a good saving. Ours don't expire until August though, so hopefully they'll have some more offers on around that time.
We got 25% off ours, plus £250 of Lego vouchers too, so it was well worth it.

We went to the Sealife centre in Brum during the summer holidays. It was a rainy day and the queue was about 100 people deep. Merlin passes let us bypass the whole queue. big grin Same for all the parks too. You don't have to queue to get in. Shame you don't get to the front of the ride queue though...

Great post Jon! I have been following the effort since you started it, and although I have understood its purpose this post does a really great job solidifying the full rationale.

NO entry to the EDF Energy London Eye on 14 February, 27 July to 31 July and 29 October to 31 October.

What's the significance of the two dates in July? unsure

Yeah, they definitely look worth it. I've ordered 1 with Tesco clubcard vouchers & because Mrs F is registered blind she can get a free "carer" pass which means I'll only have to pay cash for 2 passes to get them for all 4 of us. And since they're currently half price I effectively only have to pay for one. Result.

It does mean a trip to Chessington to pick them up as the offer isn't available online. But that's not too much of a hardship

Sarah, the Olympics start on the 27th of July. I imagine it's something to do with that
