I've had a major faff with 123Reg (again). A domain I bought from them yesterday still hasn't been registered and is still available to purchase. Their support has been rubbish - the contact forms weren't working in their support section and 'live chat' kept failing because apparently 'the system is still in beta'. They've promised to register my domain but tell me it's 'in a queue'.

I've been through all this before with them so I'd like to try someone else now - if there's one thing I can't tolerate it's the combination of bad service coupled with bad support (whiffs of Trading Eye).

I use enom for .com's, but does anyone have any recommendations for reliable, good value .co.uk registrar's?

I use namecheap for .coms etc and 123reg for .co.uks usually, but I recently realised that namecheap do .co.uks and I think it only works out a quid or so more expensive than 123reg

I know I said it on the tweet-o-horn but I use Xilo for my domains and hosting. Used them for years, and on the odd occasion where I need their support, it's been pretty good. Phone, email, forums, and Twitter. I'm not sure that they're the cheapest, but I've found them good value for money over the years.

I would never use the same company for domains and hosting personally.

What is its referral rate like?

That reminds me - I'm after one of these:

Any recommendations?

So this SEO copywriter walks into a bar, grill, pub, public house, Irish bar, bartender, drinks, beer, wine, liquor...

Beware my weird, cross-dressing comment's; they are pretty standard examples of trolling.

Had to get support to change the nameserver settings for the domain they took a day to register, as their admin panel wasn't applying the ones I entered yesterday. They apologised but it all seems to be heading downhill rapidly over there in 123-land.

Not bad. I'm looking through My Xilo right now but they've changed everything so I can't see the rates. I've got about £30 sat in the kitty at the moment though.

I've always used w3.com for domains. Haven't really had any issues with them at all, although I wouldn't say I'm a particularly big customer, only 3 - 4 domains with them at a time. Recently I had a bit of trouble with their payment methods, and wasn't able to renew in time. The guy I emailed about was pretty helpful - emailed me a different page I could renew through via paypal - even though the domain had expired by that point.

As far as i know it's just a reseller for another company, but the prices have always seemed reasonable.
