@123reg took payment yesterday but didn't register the domain. Support say it's in a 'queue'. Not good enough. #123reg #123regfail
As tweeted to 17,000 followers.

@123reg took payment yesterday but didn't register the domain. Support say it's in a 'queue'. Not good enough. #123reg #123regfail FWIW 123reg has had a reputation for doing that for a long time. One reason why we started using different registrars, before finally getting a Nominet tag and doing it ourselves. The undeniably 'cheap' prices just aren't worth it for the delay. I barely check Twitter, so please just copy-paste all your tweets into this thread from now on. thanks. I use the Chrome plugin 'Silver bird' as one of my many Twitter clients, which alerts me to new tweets by changing its icon, and loading content in one of those plugin balloon thingies.

They're saying it's Nominet's fault so maybe we'd have had the same issue anyway, though. They've just called me up to try and resolve the issue (currently on hold), looks like negative tweets to 17,000 design related followers gets their attention.

I was actually thinking I should look into a FF extension.

looks like negative tweets to 17,000 design related followers gets their attention. I bet you could get some free cheese through Twitter. There is a lot of crossover between design and cheese types.

They've offered me a couple of free domains - I guess I could see if venezuelanbeavercheese is available...

Great post Jon! I have been following the effort since you started it, and although I have understood its purpose this post does a really great job solidifying the full rationale.

I've had that told to me a couple of times. Got to say, it's surprising that Nominet have these issues yet only 123-reg seem to get affected I'd bore you with my tweets as they're mainly me moaning these days. I'm taking over Mr A's grumpy status

I've had that told to me a couple of times. Got to say, it's surprising that Nominet have these issues yet only 123-reg seem to get affected Yeah I'm sure it's just an excuse - same as when the chat support guy disappeared mid chat and blamed it on their 'beta' chat system. Having an issue now changing the nameservers for the domain - they usually go through in a couple of hours but this hasn't updated yet. I need a new registrar for .co.uk's, 123Reg have used up all their lives now.
