Just wondered if anyone had any experience of using outdoor xmas lights? We have an orchard and wanted to put some lights on one or two of the trees for the kids and wondered if anyone had used any lights or brands they could recommend?

We used to hang some outside the guest house. B&Q usually do a good selection - they used to do a long plastic tube which contained coloured lights along its length. Never bothered by rain or snow after 4 or 5 years of use.

Ah yes! found them - "rope lights" http://tinyurl.com/cmra6x3

Yup. We have a few sets, led ones to go around trees, b&q or tesco.
