drawing in IE

I need to create a page that will allow a user to sign their name with their mouse in a box in Internet Explorer 7+
The page will be displayed only in IE as it is in an internal system that displays the page.
My initial thoughts were to look at HTML5 Canvas and use polyfills to make it work but i thought there might be a better way?

Give this a try. There is source available if you want to see how it's done.

We've used this in the past here at work:

We needed something that was .NET compatible though. Plus it costs. Seems to work well though.
