Rechargeable batteries for flashgun
«

I'm probably going to get myself a nice flashgun for christmas (probably Nikon SB900) and am after some good rechargeable battery recommendations.
Most of the brands i've heard of do 2700mAh batteries but some less known batteries go higher so i don't know whether to stick with brands i've heard of or take a punt at unknown brands of high-spec
Thoughts please

Bought some 2700s from 7dayshop. Use a uniross sprint charger. They work brilliantly.

Great post Jon! I have been following the effort since you started it, and although I have understood its purpose this post does a really great job solidifying the full rationale.

I use a Uniross fast 1 hour charger with their branded 2700mAh batteries. Also very happy with the results.

I used the 7dayshop 2900mAh ones. Really good and cheap, but also consider the Sanyo Eneloops, they cost a bit more but have a solid rep.
A quick comparison video of these 2 types.
One think I will say, I invested a good charger that charges the cells individually and also have the ability to condition/discharge.

I've also heard good things about Eneloops in general. Not personal experience though.

I use 7dayshop ones, compared to duracell rechargeables they are way better.
One problem I have found with them is that you occasionally get a fat one which can be a bit tight in some battery slots, and in general they are a tiny bit fatter than brand name ones.
I had a really fat one stuck in my yn560 flash gun and the general sized ones are tight in the radio mic at work whereas the duracell ones etc. fit easily.

I'll just say one more thing about 7dayshop batteries. I bought mine about 5 years ago and never really used them. They sat in a draw gathering dust for years. Bought a flash gun some months ago and dug them out. Charged them up and they've been brilliant. Fast recycle and long goes between charging.

I never got round to buying batteries (managed to borrow my dad's flashgun batteries) but i've noticed that 7dayshop have their own brand back in stock, are these the ones you guys have ?

They last quite a while.
