I am trying to set up a virtual directory on one web server (Win Server 2008 running IIS7) the source folder resides on a remote server. The remote folder is on a Win Server 2003 web server.

Both are Rackspace servers and both are sat behind the same firewall and both have access to each other via said firewall.

I am trying to set up the Virtual Directory via IIS7 and the error message I am getting is "The path does not exist or environment variables in the path could not be expanded to verify whether it exists." The folder does exist.

The Physical path is being entered as "http://**somewebsite**.co.uk/images/fs/"

I have a user account set up on both servers and this account has read and write permissions on the folder.

Isn't the physical path normally a drive letter / share type path, rather than a URL?

Thanks

I've tried setting up a share and pointing it to that but still no joy.
