That's right people... it's that time of the year again! Well, it's a little late this year, what with Channel 5 picking up the shattered ruins of a once-good TV "experiment".

But anyways, as of 9pm on 18th August 2011, the new series of celeb Big Brother will be starting, followed immediately by the "normal" Big Brother.

I was determined not to get into it any more, as recent series' have just been a bit... pants really. I'm hoping that Channel 5 might try and steer it away from the usual "I'm a chav, get me famous" mentality that seems to have gripped the house in recent years, but I'm not holding my breath.

Still, the house looks good:

So, will any of you give it a try this year, just to see if anything has changed?

No, I have a brain you see?

Oh and I really hate the new 'fashion' in interior photography which is to use an ultra wide angle lens to make the room look larger than they are and then 'convert' them to correct for barrel distortion which in turn just distorts perspectives making windows, doors, furniture etc look wider and shorter than they actually are. It's being used extensively now throughout the hotel/self catering cottages industry at the moment and it looks pants!

I'll personally eat it for you if the "contestants" turn out to be a bunch of fame-hungry wannabes.

They should tell the housemates on day 7 or so that due to "drastic financial situations with Endemol and Channel 5", that all the cameras are going to be turned off, and their opportunity to be famous is all but gone. Then offer to let them out if they'd like, and see how many leave and how many stay just for the lulz. I'm pretty sure once the fame-hungry morons left, the house would be quite interesting with the remaining fodder. I mean housemates.

Didn't some bloke called ken or craig win it? Saw an episode a couple of years ago and just assumed it was a repeat on living, amazed that such a waste of resources is still going, but then it keeps the sad ceplebrities off the streets for a few months

Not even that - the celeb one is probably only going to be two or three weeks.

Apparently that princess who won Ultimate Big Brother, Brian, will be hosting the new show, so that'll keep him from rioting for a few weeks at least.

There are bigger threats to humanity out there. Jedward, for example. Still, us .Netters survived countless BB threads before, and rumours that my BB uber-thread was the reason that the .Net Mag Forums got shut down are preposterous!

In other news, yeah it's the same house (well, same building type thing) but obviously it's been kitted out differently. I hope Channel 5 raise the standards of the show somewhat. Get some smart, funny, intellectual types on there. (Not that Channel 5 is known for raising any kind of standards...)

Get some smart, funny, intellectual types on there.

Unfortunately, it's Celebrity BB at first.

I hope it's good quality - or then real bottom of the barrel crap, pulling out all the stops. None of this wishy-washy moral rubbish.

Ah yes, the celeb BB is first. I wonder of the rumour mill has been in full swing this year. I've no idea who the papers/news sites are talking about this year, but they'll most likely be wrong.

So, as a wild guess pulled from my bum this fine Monday morning, here's who I think might be in it (based on nothing whatsoever):

- One of the Sugarbabes
- Jonathan Frakes
- One of the cast members of Glee who's not in it any more (if there are any)

Not a long list, to be honest. Would make for a boring show.

I was only kidding with the Jedward comment, but now I see this:

 fear fear hitler

Still, there are some rather comical suggestions here: http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1517567

I'd love to see Charlie Sheen, Boris Johnson, Simon Cowell, Jonny Vegas and Macaulay Culkin in there though.

As much as I think Jedward are a pair of arses, I'm pretty sure they'd be good to watch in the BB house. At the very least the other housemates can point and laugh at them.

A makeover... by Jedward.

It starts tonight people! Set your alarms (wives, etc) to start screaming at 9pm sharp!

I do hope it's reasonable. Please God, let it be half reasonable!

So what do we think about the new housemates?

I have to say, although I barely knew who Sally was, I think she's probably one of my faves. If she won, I'd be quite happy. She's different from the others in there, and I think she'll be a quirky one to watch.

I'm not really sure why the model is in there, nor do I know or care why that paparazzi guy is in there either. Does owning a company make you a 'celebrity' now then? Just because you take photos of peasant idols, that doesn't mean you're a celebrity mate.

Tara Reid is looking good, despite her drug problems and issues with cosmetic surgery. I swear she sounded like she was on something...

Although the Gypsy King (whatever his name is) isn't really a celebrity, I'm glad he's in there. At least he's got a reason to be there, much like Sally, and I think he'll be a good one to watch.

And as much as I think they're a pair of douche-monkeys, I'm glad Jedward are in there too. I'm hoping that the Gypsy King will give them a clip round the ear or two.

Quote
The only people who don't know who we are, are literally new-born babies.

At first I thought it wasn't a great line-up, but then I realised that after the first day or so, it doesn't even matter who they are, or if they're famous or not. Nobody watching the show knows them, so they're just ordinary people as far as I'm concerned. It'll be interesting to watch them.

Also, that Emma Willis is hot, even if she is preggars.

If she won, I'd be quite happy.

We are so similar it's scary, perhaps we are related? You see I was going to say "If they all died, I'd be quite happy". So close, how spooky is that?

BTW I have no idea who is in the house so my thoughts are not selective, they can be applied to anyone and indeed everyone who has and will ever enter the house.

I think that about some people in the house. Mostly the intellectually-challenged ones.

So yeah, most of them.

PS. It's only been on for three days and I'm already a day behind.

Oh lawks it's not been such a good show so far has it?  I think 5 spent most of the money on the house and not the 'celebs'.

Yeah. I'm still a day behind, but the last one I saw was Bobby coming out of his shell. I think I'd agree with him too if I'd have been there myself.

I'm not sure who I want to go.

OK, Bobby is probably my fave housemate now. I haven't seen last night's episode so I'm still a day behind, but after seeing him get wound up about the other housemates being selfish "pricks" (lol) I think we'd get on alright if I were in there.

I don't want Sally to go either, but I guess either Bobby or Sally will go. Joe Average seem to thrive on the gossip of trashy celebs like Kerry, so they're likely to vote off the two people who actually have some semblance of a brain, mores the pity.

(I take it the eviction is tonight, and hasn't already happened?)

Bobby to win!
