Does anyone know where i can get 150cm x 100cm canvas printed ?

I usually use photobox for my printing but they don't go that big unfortunately. in the past i've used tescoprint.com for smaller canvas prints but they colour reproduction isn't amazing.

Also, probably more importantly, will i have problems with a shot from my D90 at that size a print ?

If anyone is interested the photo i need printing is my lighthouse one

The printer I'd recommend is Loxley in Glasgow, but you need to have an account with them and around five times the money that tesco will charge, but you can be sure of the colour and the quality.

Shouldn't really have any probs with the D90 resolution, as long as the image isn't a major crop and canvas is quite forgiving as something that size needs to be viewed from a bit of a distance anyways.

Best bet is to res it up in photoshop to match the final size before you send it, but don't pixel peep as you'll cry.

I've never used them, so can't vouch for quality.

I had a 30"x20" done recently - half what you want - from an 8MP Canon 20D. Interpolated in Photoshop and resharpened. Wasn't very expensive from Snapmad, so I figured it was worth a punt. I was amazed at the quality, it looks fantastic.
Of course, it's down to more than just resolution. I'd taken mine with Canon's 50mm f1.4 which is a brilliant lens, and I think it makes a big difference. If I'd used my kit lens which lacks resolution, contrast and is pretty soft I think the canvas would have looked terrible.

With 12MP on your D90 I think you stand a good chance of a quality canvas if the image is good.

I saw a program once where they used a DSLR and made a image the height of the Think Tank in Birmingham which must be about 50 feet tall. I'm sure it didn't look good if you stood a metre away, but it looked amazing at a sensible viewing distance.

Great post Jon! I have been following the effort since you started it, and although I have understood its purpose this post does a really great job solidifying the full rationale.
