google excluding ip address

I as asked by a client to add an ip address to be excluded from Google Analytics but since I have added it no visits are being recorded at all.
Has anyone else encountered this?

Has the site actually been visited by anyone else?

Take a look in the server log files - not just at today/since you excluded that IP address, but for a period of time before that to see how many other visits the site got.
