Doesn't sound like you're having a lot of luck with printers...

The upside is I have used the time I would be typing today for something equally as important ... I baked a cheesecake  artist

Seriously, I was initially very pleased when I first set the printer up, but when it wouldn't print landscape format without trying to side swipe the paper in the feeder (and consequently jammed), and then wouldn't print at all... I decided it had to go.

Perhaps it was just a one-off, and bad luck. I wouldn't know what printers to recommend though as I haven't used one outside of work for years.

However, perhaps this might relieve your frustrations: http://theoatmeal.com/comics/printers

I don't know, I'm sure if I bought one I'd have the same experience as Marge.
