Monthly Competition #26 Theme: Spring Entries will ideally have been taken during April or May, however back catalogue images can be used. Please ensure that images are posted at a maximum of 500px along any edge. Each entrant can post two images and the deadline for entering is 07 June. Please number your image(s); if you're the first entrant then please tag it as #1. Please number subsequent entries sequentially from the previous entry. (Using the topic reply numbers hasn't worked out.) If you're entering two images please ensure you add an entry number for both images (a separate post isn't/shouldn't be necessary). If hosting your images on Flickr you can get the BB Code for forum posting by going to the Flickr photo page and selecting "Grab the BBCode" from the "Share this" options (button immediately above the photo). Then make sure that medium 500 is selected and the BBCode radio button checked to get the correct BB Code to copy (it'll include a tagline code snippet too which you can delete). See also: http://www.flickr.com/groups/ddn/discuss/72157625245622956/When voting please reference the posted entry number to identify your choices. Thanks and good luck!

Great post Jon! I have been following the effort since you started it, and although I have understood its purpose this post does a really great job solidifying the full rationale.

Not playing anymore if my innovative ideas are stolen by you's with bigger lenses - I had to chase that bleedin' ladybird round a field for half an hour, risking life, limb and ruddy-faced farmers. And because I hadn't brought me glasses, couldn't see the bleedin' viewfinder either.
Just saying.

... you's with bigger lenses ... My ladybird was taken with a 30 year old pentax 28mm prime stuck on backwards with a home-made mount.

I won the last contest with an iPhone snap that wasn't posed, or edited afterwards. Find a child with a bucket on his head and stop moaning.

Voting for this one is now over, thanks to everyone who took the time. Well done to Robwhizz for first place with 21 points for "Aphid Control (#7)", closely followed in 2nd place by SlaughteredLamb with 17 points for "Taraxacum Officinale" (#11), and SL again in 3rd with 6 points for "Gathering Pollen" (#10). Congratulations to you both! Please pick the theme for July's contest, Rob.

Yay! Cheers guys and gals. Well done to SL for getting both entries onto the podium. I think I'm going to go for 'In Miniature' as the next theme.
