This seems to happen with everything I ever do or buy. Doomed to failure, anyway ordered a lovely HP monitor the other week and it turned up looking like this:

The guy from Interlink said it'd had a 'bit of a bump'. Being a monitor I though it not wise to accept with a whopping great hole in the side and exposed hardware so told him to take it back.

Told HP, and they said no problem they'd cancel the order and refund my payment. I replied, no, hang on, just send another one.

They replied confirming they'd refunded my payment. I checked, they haven't. I replied again saying look I don't want to cancel please just send another monitor. Another email, ignoring my request, saying their finance department had confirmed the refund.

Just had an invoice through from HP (undated) confirming they've taken payment.

So, they've taken a payment but no refund, and no monitor. Just tried to login to my account to see WTF is going on but my details no longer work.

Monday, etc.

I think you're right. Even the dentist hates me, had a 'final demand' for an unpaid invoice this morning which after calling them turned out to be a mistake.

I could spend all day dealing with this stuff.

Had a reply from HP in response to this morning's query. Apparently they ARE sending a replacement monitor now, despite telling me twice, that they'd refunded my payment and that I needed to contact sales again if I wanted one. They just forgot to tell me lol.

Those guys!
