And maybe move this to the spam forum.

And then be grateful there has not been the Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday threads, like there was on .net.

I wondered how long it would take. Then again, both Friday and Monday deserve a thread for being either awesome or hated. I'll leave you to decide which is which, such as the cryptic, fun-loving type that I am.

We could always have a poll to see if we want to have a thread for every day of the week...

I also like clunge.

But you can't get that on an iPhone. Therefore Macs = lack of clunge  = abundance of non-clunge = gay.

That's a nice coat you've got. Be wary of wolves wearing pinnies and glasses.

Also, I've got a week off this week, so suck it!

Monday sucks. It was too cloudy & rainy for my flying lesson so we've got to do it in a few weeks time.

And the instructor seemed a bit of a damp squib; he went all round the houses and didn't provide an answer when I asked how much flying / cost there would be involved in getting my pilot's licence. Considering he must have done it himself I'd have thought he'd have the answers...

Yeah! Well, hopefully, depending on if the instructor gets his bum in gear.

Oh yeah, definitely. But I'd have an extra lever in the cockpit that activates the trap door. I'd fill the plane with chavs (all I'd really need to do is announce that we're flying to Benidorm) and wait until we we're over the middle of the Bay of Biscay before BOOM! smile

I wonder how many times I could get away with it before they start to suspect something..?

Maybe it's too hard to say if it's rare that people only need the minimum amount of flying hours?

Perhaps - but even a ballpark figure would have been nice; I don't even know if it'll be closer to £500 or £60,000.

He said it's £150 for membership to the club, £30 per hour instructor fees, examinations and 'some other costs for fuel and stuff' but no indication on how much the examinations cost, how many there are, how many hours' experience are needed on average / recommended / required for each, etc.

a friend of mine recently had lessons, got as far as flying solo, but gave up as he never built up any confidence and couldn't live with the fear!!

This was borne out by a guy we had staying at Yawner Towers last year. He was ex-RAF having flown all sorts of delights like Lightnings, Jaguars, Phantoms etc. When I told him about my mate giving up, he said that you really need to be getting up in the aircraft (ideally) every day, or certainly several times a week. The more often you get the experience, the smaller number of lessons you'll need. IYSWIM.

Sort of thing I'd love to do. Keep us all posted about your progress!  smile
