Clearly there have been differences of opinions at Net Towers over this move. But no surprise to me. For a long time now it has appeared that Future have regarded the forums as something of an unwanted bast ard child of a previous regime and not in line with the corporate goal. The writing was on the wall all those years ago when they scrapped the nntp based forums because a new server would cost them a "whopping" (Rob Fenwick) £6k. Then they introduced the horrible banner ads. Then they started banning people for saying "cock". So no loss really. Much nicer here.  |
