When I load up my PC, the screen is largely blank but flashes for a second probably every 15 seconds so I can tell it's loading ok. Usually if I leave it 15 mins or so, the screen comes on and is then fine all day though this morning it refused to come on and kept flashing, but a reboot has made the screen come on fine.

No problems at all other than that .. any ideas ? Don't have a spare screen to test but wonder if there's a setting that may affect it ?

Check the connections are all tight and not damaged was my first thought.

What actually was flashing, the led or the content on the screen?

Mine did something similar when it was dying. I suspected blown capacitors, as it seems it worked once it was 'warmed up' a bit, but the time to warm up took longer and longer. I'm lazy, so after a few months of this, I eventually dug up the receipt; it was the day before the end of a 3 year warranty, so I took it in - they said it wasn't worth fixing and offered a replacement.
