Hi All,

I was asked how to forward, or set an account to accept, .eml files. And this is despite the guy receiving the warning message informing him to zip the file...
Quote
This message has been rejected because it has
a potentially executable attachment "Urgent London Venue change 7th September 2010.eml"
This form of attachment has been used by
    recent viruses or other malware.
If you meant to send this file then please
package it up as a zip file and resend it.
So anyone got any advise I could forward to him...? And keep it clean.... I will be telling him to Google off, and perhaps to zip it, the message that is... lol. I've googled myself too.

You don't say what client you use so it's not too easy to offer specific help, but forward it without the extension (if possible, which it is in Thunderbird: Tools> Options > Composition > General).

I basically got the info I posted here, and the fact that he is having a problem. I've asked which client he's using, and still waiting for a reply. I'm reading a bit here and there at the moment on it... seems to be a popular thing on Goog.
I've no problem forwarding using OE6, and we're on the same server, so I guess he may be using Thinderbird, but I'm still waiting....

If you check the headers of the email he sent to you it will probably say what client he is using. He wants to set it to forward messages inline and not as an attachment.

Odd rejection policy though, most spam/whatever with attachments I reject are zip files. I'd guess the server can't handle scanning inside zip files and is making excuses. Not that this is particularly relevant.

I did see that message mentioned on a CPanel forum when I was browsing. Probably some security setting with Cpanel itself perhaps... I gues sit is Thunderbird as X-Mozilla-Keys is in the header but no specific mention of Thunderbird itself.

Where the hell do you find the clients Andy?! I never seem to have half the problems you run into - if that enquiry came to me, I'd pass it off saying I don't do IT support. Your opening yourself up to a lot of problems but trying to answer these sorts of requests.

Its usually the same person too.... I am surprised he can switch the blooming thing on.... I only go and google for the bl**dy answer myself... and ask you guys too as the info from here is usually easier to digest than what's found on the Googlesphere. And as you've guessed it is usually (well always) free. If I started charging then perhaps he'd stop asking....

Is the correct answer! Once there is a value on your time, he'll respect it alot more.
