A question about Dropbox.
I've just set it up on my laptop and have dragged across a number of directories and copies them into the Dropbox folder.

Does dropbox only work on what is inside the dropbox folder and does changes to the original folder outside of dropbox get picked up by the dameon?

See what I'm trying to get my head round? I previously used Spideroak and in that you selected folders and files and any changes were uploaded to the remote server. Want to know if this is how Dropbox works.

Ta.

Dropbox only backs up what is in the dropbox folder. You can create folders within it but you cannot select other folders to be backed up outside of the dropbox folder.
