Got a client requesting a 2 level hover (I think) menu ... think they mean something like

http://www.fidesvita.org/

or

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/ (but on hover rather than click)

... anyone know of any scripts to do this ?

Superfish Jquery version on the examples page - it is the nav bar style one: http://users.tpg.com.au/j_birch/plugins/superfish/#examples

mmmmm have just tried that and have a few probs ....

1) doesn't seem to go 100% width and can't find what to amend

2) difficult to choose second level without the items dissapearing ....

I think given the amount of level 2 items under patient info, a straightforward dropdown may be better

sorry

http://www.chant4.com/testsites/entwisles/

have had to temporarily abandon that one as I have to have something ready soon but it would be useful to try to incorporate that menu if at all possible

From a quick look, I think:

.sf-navbar needs the full px width.

.sf-navbar li ul needs the full px width as well.

as Ben says plus you either need to play with font size have less items in the menu for the second level

I think it should be two tone, to distinquish between the two levels.

Bear in mind that hover menus won't work on touch devices, iPad/Phone/Android etc

You might want to add color:#ffffff; to .sf-navbar a, .sf-navbar a:visited{} in superfish-navbar.css as the menu links currently all turn blue once you click on one of them (unless that's the intention).

Are they not keen on the menu style?

I agree with Matt it would look a lot better if the menu was split so the bottom bar was a different colour

Knowing what dentists are like it would be more practical to have a straight forward drop down - there is no room under the second item to add more pages if needed and they are bound to change their minds smile

Not so much the style though now asking for level 2 to be centered as well (it'll be Comic Sans next .. oh wait .. that's another client lol) ... she quoted http://www.orthodonticlinic.co.uk/ as an example of the menu which is obviously a lot simpler so I-m going to re-do that way I think .. saves messing around with javascript etc.

Agree entirely about drop down and had already done it that way and have been trying to convince them but it isn't working sadly ( http://www.chant4.com/testsites/entwisles2010/ ) .. oh well .. guess more money for me when they do realise lol
