I'm looking for a component/module/plugin type thing that will enable me to sell products via a website which, once payment has been made will e-mail the product to the buyer. It must use PayPal as the payment gateway.  The site I'm building I was going to use Joomla for purely because I Know Joomla very well but I've played with Wordpress a couple of times and that could probably achieve what I need so ideally I'm looking for something that works with these CMS's.

So far I've tried DocMan and VirtualMart. DocMan is very close to what I'm after but it's a bit ugly and clunky. VirtualMart is good but massive overkill for my needs as I'll never be selling physical products and don't need to worry about stock levels, shipping methods, different VAT rates etc.

Cheers all, will check them out. Can't really afford/justify paying a monthly fee no matter how small as really don't know how much I'll sell and not very good nor have time to do much promotion or SEO work so sales never likely to be large. I could just do it on a PayPal IPN basis but want it to be automatic delivery so that I don't have to worry about being offline for a few days/holidays etc

Cubecart http://www.cubecart.com/ handles digital downloads, and V3 is free. Might be worth a try, though if you've seen my Twitter posts then you might notice the occasional bit of Cubecart related angst...
