I'm pretty much winding up the web design business now to concentrate on other things, but it's nice to leave on a classic. Just finished a small site for someone and I got this email:

....Just one thing though, a couple of customers I told about the page couldn't get to it using google or yahoo.   They came up with the total replies found , not to our page direct.    Is there anything you can do , asap, cos I sent out 500 fliers in the evening post to potential customers tonight, and I'd like them to come straight to us.    How can we come up first on the 'results found' pages?   Can you assist ?  ....

Nice to see things never change smile

The site launched, and they expect to be number 1 in Google in hours! Ooooh, been there so many times.

surely the flyer would have their web address on? or have they done the new 'trendy' thing  "search for XYZ online" ?  (eg. "search for army jobs online").

just tell them they'd better give Google a ring and tell them their search engine is broken wink

We're currently working with a long term client who is going elsewhere. His developer can't spell, let alone code.

Part of his last email read:

Quote
We will be going through all the text every ware. We will also be changing most of the linked text when we start our SCO

...and WTF is SCO? Does he mean SEO? Good riddance.
