I've been using Yahoo's YUI CSS library, which is great, but I've also had my eye on the 960 Grid System which appears to be a simpler solution - YUI can be fiddly, IMO.

Anyone tried them both? Would you recommend one over the other?

I liked the look of 960 but as I don't actually design it was something I recommended to our designers. I don't think it ever really hit home how useful it would be if things actually lined up.

I've never actually used the css or even looked at them, but i do use the 960.gs templates of pink stripes to sit in a locked layer when mocking up designs, then i code the css myself

It's worth using them, Rozzers; big time-saver.

im not a great fan of the yahoo, i prefer the 960 grid but personally i don't use either. I will sometimes do like rosco does and line it all up in photoshop but i find some css frameworks a bit restrictive and cumbersome. i prefer to start from my own css.
