I send quite a lot of emails, and for some reason lately Thunderbird has developed an odd bug. After I have clicked send on an email, the email doesn't disappear and instead remains visible in the status start bar. If I click onto my "sent" box it will be in there, so has obviously been sent ok. This also doesn't happen with every email.

I can get rid of the "phantom" email from the status bar by opening a new email and just closing it (then the phantom email will go)....but this is getting a bit tedious!

Any ideas how to resolve this?

TIA

uninstall/reinstall?  Might just be the quickest way

I think the uninstall routine allows you to keep settings (FF certainly does), so they'll be there when you install it again... plus TB 3 is out now anyway in case you weren't already on it

Cheers Rosco, that's probably the sensible option!
I've got MozBackup anyway so no worries about losing my settings etc.

Oh and whilst I'm at it might as well download TB 3 then!

If you use anything like Lightning (Calendar component), watch out as TB3 got a little but funny when I upgraded as it wasn't initially compatible.

TB3 fixed the problem.... I'm not totally liking the new look but I'll get used to it.
I had a problem installing one of my add-ons as it reckoned it wasn't compatible.... but it was, and is now working fine.

if thunderbird starts playing up, rather than uninstalling / reinstalling it the first thing to try is getting it to rebuild its index for your folders.
