Next month it's my 10th wedding anniversary, and a quick google reveals this to be marked traditionally by a gift of tin or aluminum.

I'm stumped beyond the usual vase/coasters type things - none of which are required.

Any/all (serious) suggestions gratefully received.

TIA

I had considered that, but I thought it might be preferable to get to 11 years wink

A nice antique tin toy?

Or thinking a bit outside the box.... how about a "Memories Tin"? Find a nice decorative tin box/caddy and fill it with memories from the past 10 years. Photos, postcards/leaflets from places you visit, a notepad full of notes of funny/happy/lovely moments?

Aluminum picture frame?

Tin Jewellery box?

A day trip down a Tin Mine?

Aluminium ornament?

The tin vase would present better by holding a huge bouquet of flowers. I've yet to meet a lady who doesn't love flowers...

(like I've done extensive research on the matter haha)

I know, a lovely quaich bowl suitably engraved for the occasion  smile

God I'm good.  biggrin

The Jean Paul Gaultier perfume comes in a tin - femme or something like that
Airplanes are largely made of aluminium - maybe a flight somewhere - double value if you get the return ticket

We were down in Cornwall last year and did Poldark tin mine. Not the most romantic of places (particularly if it's raining) - although there are some nice gardens in the local area which could be nice for a picnic. Think we went to trevarno gardens - lovely setting and quite near Poldark.

it needs to be a bit more token than a flight - other plans interact with this (without saying too much! smile)

I like the idea of the tin of memories, but we've already done this kind of stuff a few years back - it would feel a little like recycling an old idea. re: flowers - yep - but that tends to happen anyway :S

Jewellery might well be a plan - thanks for the links Kim, and thanks everyone else for pitching in - I seriously appreciate it smile

Ah. Well, I used a crap cop-out in the end - anniversary was on Friday. I got her a book and a CD she wanted. In my defense I did also surprise her with a trip to a spa for a day of pampering, a meal at one of Glasgow's best seafood restaurants, tickets to the theatre and a night in the honeymoon suite of a posh hotel south of Glasgow (and 24 hours babysitting provided by my mother) so I think the crap present was quickly forgiven and forgotten. big grin
