Disconnecting an electric cooker but not replacing it

I would like to disconnect an electric cooker but will not be replacing the cooker,  regarding the socket the cooker is connected to, is there anything I need to do to this as a new cooker is not going in but we would still like to be able to use the socket point that is with the cooker box.

When you've disconnected, put the 3 wires into choc-blocks (separate one for each of course), then wrap them with insulation tape. That will make the wiring safe until you put another cooker in and you'll be able to use the cooker socket.

Bear in mind it'll be 16a 6mm cable, not your normal 2.5mm small cable.

Yeah, drop the ends of the wires in a bucket of cold water to make sure they are cool...
