audio software

I currently use audacity for the research I'm doing. It's fine, but I constantly need to rewind and listen to a short section (often a second or less) again and again while typing notes in a spreadsheet. With audacity this means I need to click stop, move the cursor, click play etc, every time.
Anyone know of any software with the same general features as audacity, but with easier manoeuvring? Perhaps just with arrow keys to skip back and forward while playing?

In Audacity, make a selection with the cursor and hold down shift when you click play, that will set it to loop the selection.
Or, make a selection and use the space bar to start/stop. Everytime you restart it'll restart from the beginning of the selection.

Great post Jon! I have been following the effort since you started it, and although I have understood its purpose this post does a really great job solidifying the full rationale.

Prolly overkill - as in expensive - but in Cubase you can set-up markers which you can jump to easily using the transport bar.

Rob - yeah that helps a bit, but what I mean is I'm constantly having to find a section, listen to it again, then just this bit, then the next, and the controls are all just a bit clunky. Don;t really know what the answer is, just wanted to see what was out there, as I'll be doing this constantly for the next few months .
Mike - looks good, but yeah, too much.
Thanks anyway. Any other suggestions appreciated.

I've used Rezound before, not too dissimilar from audacity
