I downloaded malwarebytes a little while ago which did find a couple of iles to get rid of .. but I;ve noticed in teh 'other tools' section, there is a 'file assasin' problem which 'deletes locked files on your system' ..

what does that mean .. what's a locked file and should I run it ? .. would it do any good/harm ?

Problem or programme?

A locked file is one that's currently in use by a program. Before arbitrarily deleting them you need to make sure you know why you want to delete them. I use Unlocker to allow me to delete or move files locked by running processes, and you might want to try that rather than one that just deletes regardless.
