There's a few quirky things going on with threads appearing days after the were apparently posted. Occasionally a similar thing happens to threads which have had an updated post.
As an example - it was 3 days after Boo had posted her site review thread before it appeared for me.
This is still happening - example, those have all appeared as new this afternoon Very strange. I haven't been able to find anything useful on their forums. If anyone dares to suggest the new posts being a bit wrong it seems to get shouted down as the original poster not understanding how the system works. Looks like I'm due another look

wierd! Its not like there's any order for it - unless a cookie has corrupted somehwere in your cache
That's what I'm thinking. It's not usually that bad, generally it's just the odd one or two that will appear a few days late.

Have you tried switching it off and switching it on again? </tech support> Yep, even cleared my cache and cookies. They don't show as new anymore, but that'll be because I read them

Well we'll have to see. Obviously if it's a complete and utter nightmare then we'll reconsider.

OK, if you hadn't already guessed, the front bit has now changed. We decided to go for a Joomla install in the end, its starting to make a bit of sense and seems quite impressive in the way that it works. We have set out a basic structure, and some of the default install pages are still there at the mo. The next step is getting stuff on there that you guys and gals would like to see. So, we are open to suggestions for content areas, and also open for people to become contributors. Contribution can be in the form of writing articles, curating external stories and links - whatever really - it's a pretty blank canvas and needs some art on it. So, if you have any suggestions, or wish to get involved post here or if you're shy a PM will be just as good http://www.dotdragnet.com

I'll help by becoming a contributor. I think my content will be a bit different to the norm on here but I guess you're looking for a variety anyway? My areas of interest are: Design Photography Humour Nature Music Parenting Money saving/frugal/freebies Crafts (particularly recycled crafts)

Count me in.
Probably won't be much use on webby stuff but glad to help out in anyway I can with photography stuff. As I run a Joomla site and have done for a few years if you want/need me to act as moderator/publisher/whatever in regards to the front end (or even the forum if you wish) then that's fine with me too. Basically, I'm happy to do whatever you want.

Am happy to contribute with what I can. Can I republish posts/tutorials off my own blog? I'll alter the text to suit of course Am fairly good with WordPress articles too. And I can already use Joomla. update: sorry I now write for another site so advanced wordpress would be out as that's what I write elsewhere. basic stuff is still an option though.

I'm also happy to contribute or offer advice on setting up Joomla. I think I'll probably stick to web stuff myself, although perhaps me and Jee can setup a rival to netmums, come June 22nd/23rd

Paging DDN Supreme-Beings: That poll on the front end is sitting over the right hand side of Rutty's missive chopping some of it off.

I'd also change the bottom 4 posts to run one after the other rather than side by side, it's a bit squished up. Also is it a good idea having a table based layout considering we all rant on about tableless layouts, positioning etc.
I agree with Chris on the 2 columns, either put the poll underneath the left column or drop it altogether.
Just my 2p

Any chance of adding Tapatalk capability?
Just started using it on another forum and everyone comments how much better it is for phone users.

I'll take a look when they bother to send me the verification email. I'm going to guess the plug-in won't work automatically with SMF (They never do)

We need an advert to the side of the forums that promotes the .Net Magazine newsletter. Then we can all block it with AdBlock.
