Any suggestions on how is the best way to display quite a lot of photos. I have both a large collection of family photos and work related ones I wish to upload and display as Galleries etc but not sure if it would be best to install some software on a server or use one of these online services etc.

I'd use flickr or google picasaweb.

I can't make me mind up though so currently using both.

Coppermine is good, currently playing with zenphoto which is easy to use but very basic - no slide shows etc.

Flickr is ok as well - the free version only allows you three sets or albums, or you can upgrade for $25

I've got online albums all over the place.. photobucket, flickr, facebook, myspace.  Did have a coppermine gallery but that went when I didn't renew my hosting.

Thanks for the suggestions, I shall look into them all. On a similar subject, I have now gathered quite a few photos of the children I wish to put on a DVD so that relatives can brose them like a slide show. I have Nero which comes with an option but I have to add each phot which is rather long winded.

Any ideas on a suitable application to allow the making of a photo DVD for browsing on the TV etc.

Picasa will do that for you.

One of the benefits was it syncing nicely with the picasa web storage as well.
