My design business has always been just my own name, with the domain name reflecting this. However, I need to reclaim my name to use for something else, so I want a less personal business name. Just wondering how others came up with business names to give me some ideas....

Any suggestions?

I found a short four-letter domain which was available with the letters 'H' and 'S' in it and then made up a business name to suit it, hence HSMC. It was either that or use my shirker.co.uk domain which doesn't quite have the right gravitas to it for a company name. smile

My company used to be called 02media (zero two media), a play on zero to media, an observation on my career. However, that went out of the window as soon as o2 came into the picture. I know a guy who deals in generic domains and Rogue just seemed to fit. The rest as they say... is history.

My business name is just a word I like, and I tagged "media" onto the end of it - and all the domains .co.uk/.com/.net were free.

Not really scientific - but I'm tempted to change as 50% of client mis-spell it. Sad
