I use Rainlender which also has a calendar (but you can turn that off). The Pro version (10 euros) allows you to connect to Outlook and then you can add events and to do items via outlook or Rainlender. However it can just be run on its own too, (or connect to Thunderbird and a few other apps)

i used to use Rainlender although i never used the pro version. im not usually a google user but i may look at it. i was just looking to have something that runs on the desktop as a reminder to me as well smile i dont use outlook so im not worried about that but i was thinking about looking into a calendar or the possibility of checking out a project management system

rainlender pro just allows you to connect to your mail software. the free version will give you the desktop calendar and todo list.

for project management, dotproject is quite good however it's also a bit complicated. runs on php/mysql. I set it up on our intranet but found that we were never updating it.

Well to be honest, I use a pen and pad. I have about 100 to do lists written out. I just update it when about half of the previous is crossed off!
