Many of you will recall me posting the birth of my little boy. Well the little fella is now 5 and wants a DS Lite for Christmas.

If I went and bought one, many people would be shouting, "You should have gone to such a place as they are only xx£s", so in anticipation and to get the advice before I buy, can anyone suggest the "in place" to get one from. There seem to be 1000s out there but I am sure someone will have a real good site that will be far better, before I just go and take the plunge smile

I was doing this last Christmas  - only difference was that *everywhere* had sold out. I was just about to spend way over the odds for one from some dodgy site, when I had a tip off that Gamestation might still have a few. I called them, and lo and behold, the store that had them all was the one in Bolton town centre. So after days of searching online, all I needed to do was go into town. I think there's a lesson in there somewhere.

This is the site I used when I was looking for the Wii Fit last spring - http://www.wii-consoles.co.uk/nintendo-ds-in-stock.asp

I think most are pretty average in price.

I had the same happen with a Wii - brought it online £40 more expensive and then went into sainsburys and the tannoy announces them in stock.

I agree about checking hotdeals - people regularly post the best deals on there.

I would recommend that you buy a protective/carry case and a pack of extra stylus' too! Headphones might also be advisable as I get annoyed by the tinny plinky plunky noises all the games seem to make!

Edit to add:

Just spotted this posted today:

Cheers Kim, I went for that as I have used Ebuyer before. All I need now is some games suitable for his age group.  wink

For games keep on watching hotukdeals. I've seen a few games for a fiver on there which would be a good stocking filler.

What sort of thing is your little fella into? I'll ask Josh is if can recommend any games.

He has had a Leapster for a year, but at only 5 if I can get him into a bit of educational stuff at the same time, it would be good. He is into anything really. Anything that keeps him quiet for a while is a bonus wink

Just spotted this whilst browsing hot deals:

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/285940/honeycomb-beat-nintendo-ds-4-99-del/

Josh suggested power rangers or pokemon, but I doubt either of those are educational games!!1  Roll Eyes

EDIT TO ADD:
Josh won a copy of Guitar Hero on Tour for the DS...but he already has the game so he is wanting to sell it. It's brand new unopened. He'll sell it for £23 including postage if you (or anyone else for that matter) is interested.
