I am looking at ADSL packages for my parents. They need wireless router and ideally line rental included.

I am currently looking at http://www.tiscali.co.uk/products/talk/?code=ZZ-NL-12UG&srccode=

and that looks fine to me. Anybody here currently using or recently used Tiscali?

If you think Tiscali are that bad then please give me your recommendations.

Generally, the ISP's with line rental included are operating at v low margin's, and offer a poorer service.

As usual, my recommendation is fast.co.uk - v good, but isn't exactly budget smile

Dad used Tiscali and they have the worst setup process in the world; so over-complicated. However that was a while ago, and it may have changed since then.

Another vote for http://www.fast.co.uk here. Can't fault them. YGWYPF

Another vote for Fast, the only reason we don't use them now is that we don't have a BT line.

There is the issue, this is two 50+ year old people who have never used the internet before and wont be using it a lot so cost is going to be an issue.

I'll find out exactly what it'd cost (I don't know how much their line rental is with BT) and add it to the possibilities for them.

Edit: Just noticed that the wireless router is additional with Fast.

I've setup both my inlaws and outlaws with Namesco. Not a problem with them ever and cheaper than Fast, albeit support is not as good.

Steer clear of tiscali, Sky are good (and can include line rental) but you obv need sky tv.

Their packages are worth looking at if nothing else then they would need to get soem sort of digital soon anyways.

As far as mainstream and cheaper ISPs go I'm on orange (via freeserve etc) and they're fine for me. My Dad's also with them and neither of us have any problems. You get a router but I never even plugged my in as I already had one I liked.

I suggested Sky originally but they've just upgraded their aerial and bought a new HDD freeview box so that's not an option I think they'll want to go for.

I am with Tiscali and have had no problems.
Good connection speeds and very easy to setup.
