HI All,

I've had someone ask for a rolling text box that they can update to be added to their site. Does anyone have a good recommendation of a script or otherwise to prepare such a scrolling/rolling script feature? I have had a browse on a few sites but most things look a bit naff.... eg http://dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex2/crosstick.htm
But I suppose the "nafness" is down to how the css is styled....
Recommendations greatly appreciated.

Cheers
Andy

I wanted to have something which the client could edit to post special offers, Events, and stuff.
Browsing a few databases to see what I can find..... but any recommendations welcomed..

Let them add it to a text file and use an include to add the contents into the page. Although Mr Curry was joking with his suggestion, Marquee will work but it's not standard and so support might drop off without warning. You could use jQuery or similar instead, or failing that have a look on Dynamic Drive or wherever else people go for free scripts these days.

Google "accessible web ticker" - I'm sure I saw something using Mootools or Scriptalicious recently.

I found an acceptable script on Dynamic Drive and was thinking of using CushyCMS for the moment. It seems to work.... I just restricted them to the ticker using cushy's classes. I may look at something else in the future though...
