I've been off for six weeks with a virus, finally felt it was time to go and do something, got in the office at 8.30 sharp and then got promptly sent back home cos my doctor hadn't signed me off as being fit for work.

So I went and saw him this afternoon, and he told me to have two weeks at working half days and come back and see how I feel after that.  ;D

And the occupational health woman at work wouldn't see me for an assessment, as she's pregnant and doesn't want to catch anything. Better put a big red cross on the front door to warn people.

It was Parvo virus, normally affects kids with a bit of a fever and a red face but in adults you get rashes, arthritis, fatigue and general pain  - along with the drugs they gave me to take the swollen joints down nearly killing my kidneys (26% function) I'm not too bad considering!

That was straight after a rotten cold that I managed to pass on to nige - been a poo couple of months really - mind you, I'm a stone lighter so it's not all bad!

Nasty. We had a dog that got Parvo, he wasn't too happy either.

Hope none of the effects are long term.

Yeah, should be ok, kidneys are back in line now and tested with a few beers, and the pain has gone, just get tired easily now and that should wear off soon - hopefully!
