And even if they did, 800mg is not a recommended dosage without medical supervision

Really?  I've been takling 800mg of that and 500mg of Co-codamol when mine goes. ph34r

I've taken to just living with the bugger.  I can't afford a private chiropractor, and the last time I was at the hospital it was...

"Yeah, we'll get you an X-ray."
"Actually, there's no point in an X-ray.  It's mostly muscular, we think.  But we'll get you some whacking great painkillers and a number for a chiro."
"Actually, we can't give you a prescription.  The bitch over there with a knot in her knickers won't let us.  Here's 2 boxes worth.  When they're gone, you're on your own.  But the chiro should help you out."
"Hello, chiropractors.  Pain's gone down a bit, eh?  Well, it's obviously getting better then.  You don't need us." Shocked
"No, sorry, we don't give a toss if you've had this for a decade.  You're only 21, therefore you don't matter."

Really?

Read the leaflets that come with them.

Moderate overdosing on ibuprofen maybe won't cause too many people too many problems. Unless you're asthmatic, have a history of ulcers, gastritis or other stomach problems, are an alcoholic, are pregnant, have haemophilia, are taking blood thinning medication, have an allergy to any NSAIDs, bruise easily or have had a history of unexplained bruising when taking NSAIDs.

The 500mg just relates to the paracetamol. If you're getting it over the counter you're likely to also be getting 8mg of codeine phosphate per tablet, or 12mg if you use solpadine max. At that dosage you're more likely to suffer from constipation than any other side effect.

Me thinks Mr. Anderson knows more about drugs than is healthy for one person to know!  wink1

I borrowed a tens machine off the MIL and she hasn't asked for it back.

Very good for pain relief as long as you don't mind zapping electricity through your body. It's like a nasty version of those pad things they try and sell to tone muscles without exercise.

Or for the cheaper version, a knife and an electric socket will substitute.

Update. Pretty much back to normal now. Even managed to cut the grass the other day. Sounds pathetic but I have tons of the stuff. Best of all - went for ride on motorbike today with no ill effects.

Still get the occasional *twinge* though  unsure
