F1 Testing

Anyone going to any of the F1 testing days? Alas if you don't already have a ticket you won't be able to get in. I hear it's limited to 5,000 and is sold out.

Not going to be able to go to that, but I was at a recent Renault World Series day with Alex.  He got some belting shots.  I'll put some online if he ever stops fiddling with them in Photoshop.

He does that with every photo he takes, far as I can tell.

nice photos where abouts on the track were you?

between Luffield and club, the head on shots where taken through the fencing at Abbey. Bottom one, again through the fencing but up at club.

Is there more free reign to wonder about during the testing, is it easy to get up nearer the fencing/gates closer to the circuit?
During the race weekends there are some many people and marshalls you have very little chance of getting shots like those

well access was restricted to one side of the track, you couldn't walk all the way round.
As for getting close to the fence, you can but you have to keep an eye out for the stewards, they where few and far between but they will tell you to move back. The track doesn't have marshals but if you tried to get to where the press go you'd be jumped on by the fire crews.

I went to the race and had a great time, but I must admit the food was over-priced and really sh1t - not good seeming the tickets are so expensive.
