Win a digital camera and have your photograph printed in the Daily Telegraph

To celebrate the Telegraph’s free seven-part photography guides, How to Photograph Absolutely Everything, we are giving you the chance to win one of five KODAK EASYSHARE M1033 digital cameras, plus the winning photographer will win £500 and have their photo published in Digital Life in The Daily Telegraph.

Your photos can be of absolutely anything; friends and family, special occasions, landscapes, sunsets or pets. The winning photographs will be judged by the Digital Life Editor and the Telegraph’s Picture Editor, and will be appraised for their overall technique.

What the judges will be looking for

The judges will be looking for entries that show strong technical merit in the following areas:

Exposure: a good balance between shadow and highlight detail

Focus: sharp in all the right areas

How you've used the light and the balance of colour

Composition – a strong use of shape and form, this is an opportunity to try something new or show genuine originality

And finally, the all-important creativity

HOW TO ENTER THE COMPETITION

Email your photo to photocompetition@telegraph.co.uk with your name, address and telephone number before midnight on Monday, July 7.
