This is a detail. Before visiting, I had never appreciated quite how elegant this was. I'm a big fan of the era architecturally and artistically, so it was a pleasant surprise. All slightly ruined by the reduction in size & quality for the web. Ho hum.

Now, that's just lovely smile

It was foggy when I went a few years ago and I only had a really shitty Oregon Scientific camera back then. Got some nice shots back towards the bridge from Orange County but I'd have loved to have tried a few like this. I love architectural shots.

That's the best I could manage back then. I really, really want to head back with my dSLR  Cool

Taken a couple of miles up the bay, handheld (with a beanbag). Was a bit disappointed with this - hoped for more *character* from it.

This is between San Francisco and Yosemite National Park, during the golden hour as you can see, in October last year. Classic image, much done and tired out as a result, but I still thought it worth jumping out the car and grabbing a couple of frames.

I've just realised that this is the second photo in a row in this thread with completely centred subjects - no rule of thirds here! (although I suppose you could say the arrow in this image is at the point of the top third). Generally, I try to follow best practice in framing my subject, but I tend to allow "what looks best" to also have a big influence. Thoughts on that welcomed (as well on the photos - hints and tips always welcomed smile )
