HI All,
Well I have my new Latitude D830, just looking for any security software recommendations. I use ZAP as my firewall, and as it was already registered for 2 years, have just continued with its subscription. I did use Grisoft's Free AV and SpySweeper, SpamBot S&D too, on my old lappy, but wondered if anyone had any recommendations even if it is for the Firewall too.

Cheers
Andy

Seconded, although the new Norton is actually a lot lighter on it's feet than previous.

I have always paid for Antivirus software and have used AVG for the past 3 years. However, I did like the look of Avast, and have just purchased the professional version a month ago. It sits there in the background and works very well. As much as AVG is classed as not using much in the way of resources, I have seen an increase in my PC speed since using Avast, so guess its even less hungry.

I'm using nVidia's firewall, weirdly enough.  Came with the motherboard.  It's not bad, though I'm not sure I like the idea of a web interface.

AV software has always been more of a system-slowing annoyance than a saviour for me in the past, so I recommend Trend Micro's HouseCall for the odd scan, other than that I run nothing.

For anti-spyware I give it the odd run with Spybot S&D.

For anti-spam, I just use Thunderbird. wink

You just keep on trying 'til you run out of cake
And the science gets done, and you make a neat gun
For the people who are still alive
